Review

The Medalist is great for those that want an affordable rangefinder that comes with PinSeeker Technology but don't mind the extra size and weight.

The Medalist is one of the bigger and heavier Bushnell rangefinders with dimensions of 4.5 x 3.8 x 1.7 inches/43 x 114 x 97 mm and weight of 9oz/255g but it's effectiveness clearly makes up for this.

The Bushnell Medalist is very easy to use. It comes with PinSeeker mode making it very easy to lock onto the flag or any other object and get the distance quickly and effortlessly even with shaky hands.

It runs off of a 9-volt battery which is included and has a long battery life. Since it comes with the battery included you can literally start playing with it out of the box. It will measure reflective targets as far away as 1,000 yards, trees as far away as 700 yards and flags as far away as 300 yards.

It is one of the cheaper rangefinders with PinSeeker technology at about $250 at Amazon.com. It comes with a carrying case which is very cheap and falls apart very easily. The carrying case has a clip so you can attach it to your golf bag. The battery cover is also very flimsy and comes off very easily. I had to tape the battery cover shut.

It has a rubber covering making very easy to grip. Like all Bushnell rangefinders it is accurate within plus/minus one yard. It has 4x magnification making it easy to find your target from yards away. It is weather resistant. It is legal for tournament and handicap play.

Overall, the Medalist is an affordable rangefinder with PinSeeker Technology. It is not the most compact or lightweight but worth the extra size and weight in exchange for it's accuracy and effectiveness. If you would like a more compact and lightweight PinSeeker rangefinder I recommend the Bushnell Scout 1000 which is also sold for around $250. The most effective laser rangefinder by Bushnell is the Bushnell Pinseeker 1500.
